s but it is
nothing like the needle experience you have had in the past. Most people find
it uneventful and are shocked they are
even inserted.
With this
happy hour protocol, needles are placed in specific powerful points in each
ear. The ears are chosen because they are easy to access and the ears are one
of the bodies micro-systems, i.e. the whole body is represented in the ear,
therefore the whole body can be treated from the ear. The points chosen are
empirically known to balance the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems
and balance the three primary detox organs (liver, kidneys and lungs) of the
body. These points are also known to increase the release of endorphins, your
bodies feel good hormone.
Once the
needles are inserted, people are invited to relax however they want. Most will
lie down in savassana. Some fall asleep. The treatment lasts anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. People usually know when they are finished however the
acupuncturist will know when the session is done. After needles are removed,
you are free to have some tea and quietly chat with others in the outer room.
Once seated on your yoga mat, you will be given an
alcohol pad to swab the inside areas of both ears, then the acupuncturist will
begin to insert the needles. The session may last between 30 to 45 minutes.
